Torn ("we," "us," or "our") operates the Torn mobile application and website. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.
Information We Collect
Anonymous usage: When you use Torn without creating an account, we assign an anonymous identifier to track your responses. We do not collect your name, email, or any personal information in this mode.
Account information: If you choose to create an account via Google Sign-In or email magic link, we collect the email address and display name associated with your account. This is used solely for authentication and to preserve your data across devices.
Response data: We store your answers to poll questions to calculate and display aggregate results. Individual responses are not publicly visible — only aggregate percentages are shown.
How We Use Your Information
- To provide and maintain the Torn service
- To display aggregate poll results
- To authenticate your account (if you create one)
- To save your bookmarks and preferences
Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored securely using Supabase, which provides encrypted database storage and authentication services. We use Row Level Security (RLS) policies to ensure users can only access their own data.
Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- Supabase — database and authentication
- Google Sign-In — optional account creation
- Vercel — web hosting
These services may collect additional information in accordance with their own privacy policies.
Data Retention
Anonymous response data is retained indefinitely for aggregate statistics. If you create an account, you may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us.
Children's Privacy
Torn is intended for users aged 17 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 17. If we learn that we have collected data from a child under 17, we will delete it promptly.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
